Clarkson College is currently seeking a Financial Aid and Scholarships Counselor. This position supports the Director of Financial Aid & Scholarships with the awarding of financial aid and scholarship funds from federal, state, institutional and private sources so eligible students at Clarkson College can receive assistance with the financing of their education. Serves a population of over 1,200 students and assists in the management and awarding of more than $16 million in financial aid annually, including institutional and partnership scholarship programs.

Required Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in business, counseling, or communication or equivalent combination of education/experience combined required. (One year of education equals one year of experience.)
* Minimum two years of customer service experience required.
* One year of financial aid experience in a school, college or university setting, preferred.
* Strong customer service skills, strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to adapt to customer and student needs, required.
* Knowledgeable in financial aid eligibility, application procedures, aid programs, costs, indebtedness, responsible money management and financial planning, preferred.
* Employees cannot be in default on their Federal Student Loans as the Student Aid Internet Gateway (SAIG) Technical Support will block the incumbent from NSLDS access, which is required to perform the position responsibilities and duties.
