Department/Position Details:

  • Data Capture and Provisioning
    • Collect, validate, and maintain quality-related data from multiple sources.
    • Develop standardized reporting processes to aggregate quality metrics.
    • Demonstrate the ability to create and manage large databases.
    • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of quality data for organizational decision-making.
    • Design and implement both one-time and continuous data analysis processes.
    • Relate captured data to organizational processes and workflows.
  • Data Analysis, Business Intelligence (BI), and Visualization
  • Analyze clinical and operational data to assess quality outcomes.
  • Identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement in care quality and efficiency.
  • Create meaningful reports, dashboards, and scorecards tracking key quality performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Support compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., Joint Commission, CMS quality measures, infection reporting, AJRR).
  • Design visualizations and presentations that enable actionable insights into quality metrics.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on quality reporting tools and data visualization best practices.
  • Exercise creativity and initiative in solving complex problems.

  • Partner with clinical teams, leadership, and quality department to support improvement projects.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders to drive informed decision-making.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders to address evolving healthcare information needs.
  • Promote data literacy and a self-service approach to data, enabling stakeholders to access information they need.
  • Plan, prioritize, and manage multiple projects supporting organizational objectives using project management and process improvement skills.
  • Provide data support and feedback for various initiatives, including ongoing metrics and dashboards, performance improvement efforts, and business case analysis.

  • Research new data sources and explore innovative analytical tools.
  • Support the planning, implementation, and monitoring of processes and systems to optimize data workflows.
  • Identify ways to improve services provided to the organization (e.g., database enhancements, improved information delivery, integration of disparate data sources).
  • Take advantage of opportunities to attend classes, workshops, seminars, and conferences to expand knowledge and skills in healthcare analytics.
  • Miscellaneous responsibilities to include:
    • Comply with safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements such as OSHA and The Joint Commission.
    • Participate in performance improvement and project management activities.
    • Attend and contribute to department meetings.
    • Complete mandatory educational programs.
    • Follow established guidelines as stated in hospital and departmental policies and procedures.

Position Requirements:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in an analytical field (math, economics, engineering, statistics, healthcare business, etc.) or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

Experience:

  • Two years of experience in healthcare or quality analytics preferred.
  • Exposure to healthcare quality metrics, regulatory requirements, and accreditation standards.
  • Familiarity with DA2 reporting or the Cerner Millennium data model is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency with query and reporting systems, Microsoft Excel, and Power BI.
  • Experience with programming/scripting languages such as Python, SQL, and JavaScript preferred.

Physical:

  • This position is classified as Sedentary Work in the Dictionary of Occupational Titles, requiring the exertion of up to 10 pounds of force occasionally (up to 33% of the time), and/or a negligible amount of force frequently (33-66% of the time) to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary Work involves sitting most of time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
