HR Specialist
Position Overview
NUIHC is seeking a detail-oriented and people-focused HR Specialist to support our human resources operations. This role is responsible for employee relations, benefits administration, recruitment, compliance, and implementation of HR policy. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, a solid understanding of HR best practices, and a commitment to fostering a positive workplace culture.
Key Responsibilities
1. Employee Relations & Engagement
Serve as the first point of contact for employee inquiries regarding policies, benefits, and workplace concerns.
Assist in conflict resolution and provide guidance on performance management.
Support employee engagement initiatives and help build a positive work culture.
2. Recruitment & Onboarding
Assist with job postings, resume screening, and interview scheduling.
Support new hire onboarding, including paperwork, orientation, and training coordination.
Ensure compliance with hiring processes and maintain employee records.
3. Benefits & Payroll Administration
Assist employees with benefit enrollments, changes, and questions.
Work with CFO on payroll activities to ensure accurate timekeeping, deductions, and employee changes.
Help coordinate wellness programs and employee assistance initiatives.
4. Compliance & HR Policy Implementation
Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
Support the development and communication of HR policies and procedures.
Assist with audits and reporting related to employment law compliance.
5. HR Data & Reporting
Maintain accurate and confidential employee records.
Prepare reports on HR metrics, such as turnover, engagement, and hiring trends.
Assist in the continuous improvement of HR systems and processes.
Qualifications & Skills
Education: Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Experience: 1-3 years of HR experience preferred.
Skills:
Strong knowledge of HR practices, labor laws, and compliance.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
Experience with HR software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
