Job Summary:

In a career as a Clinic Manager, Internal Medicine, you join us in providing life-changing care to patients from across the region. In this role, you will Manage nursing personnel in the ambulatory care setting. Participate in clinic improvement plans, monitor staffing levels, and ensure compliance with internal and external regulatory agencies. Work collaboratively with all members of the leadership team, and at times will perform direct patient care.

Schedule: Full-Time, Day hours Monday-Friday

Location: 72nd and Lakeside Clinics

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

  • Manages the complexities of day-to-day operations across multiple clinic locations and/or multiple specialties. Must be able to travel between clinic sites on a regular basis.
  • Partners with the Clinic Director in interviewing, training, supervising, competency evaluations, observations, reporting of unsafe practices, noncompliance with nursing policies, annual evaluations, and being available to provide timely advice, assistance, and direction across the department.
  • Performs clinic specific onboarding and orientation of new employees working side by side providing direct patient care as needed.
  • Creates and maintains the nursing work schedule. Ensures appropriate nurse staffing ratios to support safe patient care.
  • Provides input to the Director for the annual operational and capital budgets. Collaborates with the Director on monitoring and analyzing the monthly budget performance and acts, as indicated, to achieve budget targets.
  • Provides input to the Director for equipment/supply selection, evaluation, pricing, and purchase utilizing provider and staff input.
  • Partners with the Director in the planning efforts to improve operations to include nursing staffing plans, professional practice standards, and various performance improvement plans.
  • Ensures departmental compliance with internal policies, to include state, federal and "The Joint Commission" regulations. The Joint Commission readiness will be ongoing.
  • Conducts regular audits on patient care documentation within the electronic medical record. Provides education to staff and follow-up as applicable.
  • Monitors manager dashboard, department reports and work queues.
  • Displays professionalism through willingness to act as a team member.
  • Demonstrates effective communication with coworkers, supervisors, and consumers while taking responsibility for personal and professional development through attendance at mandatory staff meetings and training sessions.
  • Models provision of excellent customer service and ensures timely follow up for service failures.
  • Completes all other duties as assigned to meet the needs of the clinic. This may include performing patient care duties as needed.
  • Provides patient care and education according to the patient population served.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Registered Nurse who is a graduate of an accredited school with a current state license required.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing or BSN attained within three years of transfer or hire required.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience working in a medical office setting required.
  • BLS required.
