POSITION SUMMARY: 

In this role, the tax intern will assist with and learn various state sales and use tax regulations and their application to the advertising industry. Daily tasks will include filing sales and use tax returns, as well as completion of supporting documentation. With demonstration of complete understanding of the sales and tax process, additional projects will be assigned.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Review and research unclaimed property such as old outstanding checks.
  • Determine whether property should be returned, retained or escheated based on payees address.
  • Maintain and update detail accounts to reflect current balances.
  • Assist on various tax department projects as required.
  • Run departmental reports as assigned.
  • Assist internal customers with questions.
  • Assist with sales tax audit defense.
  • Assist with the preparation and filing of sales tax returns.
  • Regular and reliable attendance required.

EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Currently enrolled as a Sophomore or Junior seeking a Bachelor of Accounting, preferred
  • Must have excellent computer knowledge of Excel
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • G.P.A of 3.0 or higher preferred
