Position Summary This position performs residential and commercial service disconnection due to non-payment, failure to apply, rechecks and non-compliant AC\GL. In addition, this position completes AC\GL surveys and other service orders through Work Manager.

Minimum Requirements Required - Minimum of 1 year of field work experience demonstrating mechanical aptitude. Preferred - Minimum of 3 years of customer service experience.

Education Required - High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)

Licenses, Certifications and/or Testing Required - Have and maintain a valid drivers license Upon Hire Required - Employee(s) in this position are covered under the Department of Transportation Operator Qualification (OQ) Rule, thus must acquire and maintain qualifications for all covered tasks assigned to this position under the Districts Operator Qualification Plan. within 90 Days Required - Employee(s) in this position are covered under the Department of Transportation Drug and Alcohol testing provisions. This includes post-offer, random, post-accident, reasonable suspicion, follow-up, and return to duty testing. Upon Hire

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Ability to use District mapping to identify gas and water locations, lines, stop boxes, etc. Proven basic mechanical aptitude to trace service lines and identify leaks. Ability to detect natural gas odorant and operate a gas leak detector. Knowledge of District gas and water metering infrastructure to include, but not limited to, residential meters, industrial meters, regulators, Encoder Receiver Transmitter (ERT) modules, and correctors required. Demonstrated knowledge of District gas and water service, service locations, meter locations, and operation of valves and stop boxes. Ability to work independently and complete service orders as assigned utilizing enterprise software and established policies and procedures. Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed attendance standards, strong time management skills, ability to schedule and meet necessary deadlines Ensure work performed is in accordance with established District policies and procedures to ensure customer service standards are met or exceeded. Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions. Ability to accurately draft and maintain records both manually and electronically utilizing District enterprise software (i.e. SAP) and District specific software. Knowledge of personal computers and the ability to use District technology such as, Work Manager, Lemur, and any other District applications. Proficiency with personal computers, tablets, and/or other electronic devices to include familiarity with, but not limited to, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word) and enterprise wide software (e.g., SAP). Ability to learn new or upgraded computer software as required. Efficient written and verbal communication skills, in English, to assist internal and external customers, co-workers and management professionally, regardless of provocation.

Essential Functions Complete various service disconnections utilizing District mobile solutions (i.e tablet) and enterprise software due to non-payment, disconnection re-check, AC\GL non-compliant, and other service order types. Complete AC\GL surveys using a gas leak detector device and Work Manager. Complete assigned paperwork but not limited to, time sheets, 441 notices, and daily tasks within established deadlines. Complete water service reconnections. Locate and raise water stop boxes to grade as needed and mark stop boxes for easy location for turning services back on. Complete orders such as recheck orders, collect off order, AC\GL orders, non-complaint order, and failure to apply. Read all types of meters accurately. Through digging, chipping ice, and other physical means, locate, services, meter-pits, meter vaults and all other related appurtenances in all types of terrain and weather conditions in order to perform assigned work. Perform physical requirements of position. (See attached Physical Demands) Maintain all assigned tools, supplies, and equipment stocked in assigned vehicle. Maintain appropriate documentation pertaining to disconnections, reconnection, and daily work. Comply with and maintain knowledge on proper confined space entry procedures to include, but not limited to, permitting, air monitoring, air exchange and evacuation plans and ensure vault preparation. Drive District vehicle. Conduct safety inspections of assigned vehicle and equipment.

Physical and Environmental Requirements Field: Work inside and outside in all weather conditions and terrain for extended periods of time.
