Systems Engineer I

Borsheims is looking for a full-time Systems Engineer to join our team. At Borsheims, we take pride in providing our Signature Service to every customer, and you will play a vital role in helping us do that. 

Our Systems Engineer is responsible for providing technical support to all business solutions using various technologies including networking enhancements, system integration, virtualization, and data security; supporting existing and new infrastructure including routers, firewalls, switches, servers, azure cloud, wireless, computers, security, etc.; monitoring systems and network infrastructure daily and implements new technology; and transforming retail challenges into technological solutions. If you have prior IT experience, have strong communication and problem-solving skills, and can manage requests and project prioritization, you may be the gem we’ve been searching for!

Qualified candidates should have:

Azure, Windows Server 2012/2016/2019/2022, Virtual Hosts and Local VM’s, Windows OS 10/11, MFA (Multi-Factor Authentication), Active Directory, Services DHCP/DNS/RDP/Domain Controllers, and PowerShell

  • Must have experience with Networking:
    • FortiNet Firewall, switches, and Wireless access points, VPN, VLAN, and subnetting
    • Sonic Wall, Access Points, Switches
    • Failover and Disaster Recovery
  • Strong experience with FortiNet technologies including routers, firewalls, switches, wireless access points & controllers required.
  • Must have experience with:
    • Systems planning – network expansion and server design
    • Security principles – security standards and compliance
    • General software management best practices
  • Must have experience with best practices surrounding change and release management, testing, and operational documentation.
  • Knowledge of applicable security best practices and requirements (e.g. PCI, SOX, HIPPA, etc.)
  • Must have experience with various Cloud technology solutions, Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity
  • Ability to manage requests & project priorities.

You Will:

  • Manage daily IT network activities to include designing, documenting, implementing, testing, and securities; monitor and support all enterprise system solutions.
  • Be responsible for all new technology implementation under PCI, SOX, and HIPAA compliance guidelines.
  • Design, develop and maintain new cloud technologies including Microsoft Azure.
  • Be responsible for maintaining systems to be used during disaster recovery and business continuity instances including backups of data and systems configurations.
  • Install and maintain servers on-prem and cloud using Microsoft Technologies (Azure and Hyper-V), operating systems, software, server hardening, group policies, network configurations, encryptions, etc.
  • Support existing and new infrastructure; installing and maintaining network devices including configuration and maintaining Cisco routers, firewalls, switches, servers, wireless, computers, mobile technologies, controllers, cabling, etc.
  • Maintain enterprise level IT security vendors and technology upgrades.
  • Be responsible for managing and supporting the physical data center.
  • Provide technical support to retail and corporate end users including troubleshooting all systems and end-user applications; works with other IT team members and end users on providing a solution to problems or implementing new solutions.
  • Maintains current industry knowledge of trends, best practices, guidelines, standards, and technical expertise.
