Creighton University in Omaha, NE is seeking to hire a Research Lab Technician II.

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Laboratory Technician to join our auditory neuroscience research team, where we focus on how developmental hearing loss impacts brain function and behavior. This position is ideal for individuals with a background in research and/or technical skills. The role offers the opportunity to help set up advanced laboratory equipment and gain hands-on experience with animal behavior and physiology techniques.

Key Responsibilities

Helping to set up and maintain lab equipment, including software, hardware, and other technical systems
Training and handling small animals (gerbils) for auditory behavior tasks
Assisting with data collection and analysis for research experiments
Maintaining detailed records of experiments and laboratory activities
Contributing to the organization and upkeep of the laboratory

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in related field of Science required
2+ year's research lab experience
Basic understanding of neuroscience preferred and familiarity with MATLAB, engineering, or related technical skills (preferred).
Experience with or willingness to learn techniques in the laboratory, including behavioral training and physiology approaches (in vivo neural recordings)
Willing to handle rodents (gerbils) and previous experience in research, animal handling, or animal behavior (preferred).
