Position Highlights
The Heart & Vascular Unit (7HVU) is a 49 private bed unit. It is considered a specialty medical/surgical unit that is fast paced and will provide growth in professional knowledge and expertise in the care delivery of our cardiovascular patients. The staff will care for specialty patients such as stable heart and lung transplants and Ventricular Assist Devices (LVADs). The Cardiac Vascular Unit is a sister unit to the Cardiac Care Unit.
Shift Details:
Part-time
Days; 3 8hr days/week; including every other weekend (Saturday/Sunday)
Typically 7am - 330pm and 11am - 730pm

Perform basic patient care functions that assist with individualized patient mobility activities as directed by licensed nurse, physical therapist, and/or occupational therapist personnel.
Required Qualifications:
* Minimum of 18 years of age required.
* High school education or equivalent required.
* Completion of certified nursing assistant program or restorative program or experience in direct patient care required.
* Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire required, must be from an American Heart Association (AHA) endorsed program (effective for new hires starting January 1, 2023 or later).
Preferred Qualifications:
* Prior experience in a hospital setting preferred.
* Proficient knowledge of use of patient care equipment/supplies preferred.
* Appropriate knowledge of good body mechanics preferred.
* Knowledge of computer data entry and word processing preferred.
* Basic knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
* Ability to work at a fast pace preferred.
* Ability to communicate effectively preferred.
*Ability to work in a team environment preferred.
* Ability to manage and interact with patients and families of all age groups preferred.
* Ability to deal with difficult or challenging customer interactions and escalate to management as appropriate preferred.
