Nebraska Medicine is now taking applications for a talented individual to join us as a Pharmacist Resident (PGY1). This position is only for applicants who participate in the match to Nebraska Medicine through the ASHP Resident Matching Program conducted by the National Matching Services. This specific position will work in Omaha, NE.

The Postgraduate Year One (PGY1) pharmacy residency program is designed to build on the Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) education and outcomes to contribute to the development of clinical pharmacists responsible for medication related care of patients with a wide range of conditions, eligible for board certification, and eligible for postgraduate year two (PGY2) pharmacy residency training or prepare each resident to enter a practice position in an acute care setting.
Residents will provide pharmacy services in assigned patient care areas and ensure all medication related patient and care provider needs are met. Work proactively as a member of a team(s) to ensure the provision of optimal pharmaceutical care. Demonstrate a dedication to continual and constant quality improvement according to professional standards and practices.
Required Qualifications:
Graduate of an Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) accredited Doctor of Pharmacy degree program OR possess a Bachelor or Master of pharmacy degree with 10 years of experience required.
Strong leadership, communication and problem solving skills required.
Ability to work on average 60 hours per week and on any shift required.
Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
Acceptance as a resident through the ASHP Resident Matching Program (Phase I, Phase II or Post-Match Process) to the organization's pharmacy PGY1 pharmacy program required.
Basic knowledge in office computer tools such as Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Outlook required.
Licensed to practice pharmacy without restriction in the state of Nebraska by July 31 of PGY1 year required.
