Database Administrator

Physicians Mutual is seeking a Database Administrator (DBA) to design, implement, and maintain complex database systems. This is a hands-on role involving

performance tuning, security, data integrity, and troubleshooting across multiple DBMS platforms, including DB2, SQL Server, Db2 for z/OS, and cloud-based

systems such as Amazon RDS, Aurora, and DynamoDB. Youâ??ll work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure data availability, accuracy, and security, while

also mentoring peers and contributing to enterprise IT goals.

Qualifications:

• Bachelorâ??s degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 5+ years of IT experience with 3+ years in database administration
• Expertise with relational DBMS and client-server architecture
• Strong problem-solving and technical communication skills
• Experience with database security, backups, and recovery
• Familiarity with Agile frameworks, including SAFe, Scrum, and Kanban.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and manage physical databases
• Monitor performance and ensure data integrity and security
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex database access issues
• Test and deploy DBMS software upgrades
• Proficient in SQL query development and optimization
• Train and mentor technical staff
• Support on-call rotations and project deadlines
