Data Platform Architect

ARC is looking for a Data Platform Architect to join our team! In this role, you will design and evolve data frameworks, standards, and principles, significantly impacting the efficiency, reliability, and scalability of our ecosystem. As new business challenges arise or strategies change, you will adapt our architectural guidance accordingly. Additionally, you will foster technology innovation, identify opportunities for technical efficiencies, and evolve best practices while communicating these elements to the appropriate technical stakeholders. This role will work closely with leaders across the business and within business technology.

1. Define enterprise data architecture principles, standards, and frameworks; get buy-in from stakeholders, management, business partners.
2. Keep current with the newest tools, technologies, ideas, patterns, and methodologies. Effectively communicate these insights and concepts to key stakeholders.
3. Assist with the selection of all data related technologies, and the development of standards, usage guidelines and procedures for those tools.
4. Actively review technological changes in data management and pursue an understanding of the organization's business plans and strategies. Evaluate the value of these trends to the organization and present the information to management and other team members.
5. Work closely with product teams, data scientists, and other stakeholders to identify and meet data requirements.
6. Partner with others in business technology to develop and maintain plans to ensure the availability and integrity of data in the event of a disaster or system failure, minimizing downtime and data loss.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
• 8+ years of experience with Enterprise Data Warehouse technologies.
• 5+ years of proven implementation experience with scalable cloud data platform technologies (Snowflake, AWS preferred).
• 5+ years of experience with databases and big data technologies such as MySQL and PostgreSQL.
• 3+ years of experience in data lake design and implementation.
• Experience in architecting streaming/event-driven data platforms, addressing data lineage and quality issues, and familiarity with modern data operating models.
• Proficiency in sourcing, transforming, and processing structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data.
• Demonstrated ability to influence technology strategy and best practices across peer and leadership groups in an agile/rapid development environment.
• Knowledge of industry best practices for PCI and GDPR compliance.
• Experience with machine learning/deep learning is a plus.
• Work experience in the air travel industry is a plus.
